I have Jenny Crusie and Barbara Samuel to blame, er, thank for this idea. Making a collage to represent the feel of a book and spark your creativity. This is the one I did for ATLANTIS RISING, and I have to admit that looking at it when I was staring off into space, while working on the book, did help center me in my world.

I did this for the first time recently, for a proposal I recently finished. Mine isn't as pretty and blue as yours (it's for a desert-set romantic suspense tentatively titled The Salt Maiden), but I found it made my mind still enough to focus on my vision for the book.
I'll try it again sometime, and I use music as well to get into the groove.
