Hello from Alyssa's new assistant - and Prizes!!

Hey all! I'm Connor, Alyssa's new assistant. My job is to de-clutter her life so she can focus on writing books for you, her awesome readers. Right now we are starting a contest to fill up the FAQ page of her website. (Click on the link to see what's already posted.)

If you have any questions you’re dying to know the answers to about her books or series or upcoming projects or life in general, please enter them in the comment section below. Winners whose questions are chosen will each win an autographed copy of Vampire in Atlantis. I know I'll have a great time doing this and other projects, so I hope to hear from all of you soon. This will be open through July 31st.

Thanks!
Connor

Strange question, but does Poseidon have a story? Like a prequel of some kind?

You have a limited number of "main" warriors for the Atlantis series, where do you take it when they all have happy endings? A new series, or adding more characters to the world of Atlantis?

Sebella Blue said...

Will Atlantis stay hidden forever or will it rise and merge with mainstream humanity?

Hi Connor,
I'm so very jealous of you job :) I look forward to see what you have planned.

JLMontag said...

Who or what inspired you to write the series on Atlantis?

Anonymous said...

Conner best job ever!
Do you have a set number of books for the series?
Who is your favorite warrior and heroine?
You write about the warriors with such passion. Why are they so special to you?
Who was your most difficult character to write?

Can you tell I've been saving these up?

Connor said...

All of these are great! First six, definitely winners - please send your mailing address to me at mail@alyssaday.com. Keep 'em coming!

After the warriors, do you plan to continue the story with the children's characters. It seems to be open to that.

How do you find time to write with such a busy home life?

Do you have any tips for aspiring authors?

How did you get into writing?

Do you see yourself branching out into other sub-genres, for example: young adult, urban fantasy etc?

Where did you get your inspiration for the series?
Do you have a special routine for writing?
Do you write one book at a time or do you have multiple projects on the go at once?

Barbara said...

Have you ever thought of introducing warriors from another god or goddess?

Donna said...

Welcome Connor. I am just biding my time for Aleric & Quinns book. So I guess my question is when the heck is that one coming out?

Sue C. said...

Will there be any other vampires that will make their way to Atlantis?

slphilli said...

Has being in a foreign country that has such a different culture than ours affected your writing style or how you write?

CrystalGB said...

Love Alyssa's books. What is your favorite part of the mythology surrounding Atlantis? If you could be a Greek goddess for a day, who would you choose to be?

There seems to be story line arching thousands of years. Will there be other books beyond Warriors of Poseidon?

How the heck do you keep all of the details straight?? I keep picturing a wall of sticky notes, like a crime scene board! Or a huge tree shape that you have drawn on a wall. So many branches, so little time!

I have always loved mythology and the mystery of Atlantis intrigued me even while in high school. You bring the myths to life in an awesome way! Have you any ideas about any other series and if so, would they continue in the same vane or would you go into other directions such as shifters or vampires?

Mexi said...

Are there any actors/models/musicians/athletes/etc that you envision as one of your characters or do you try to stay away from that? If someone got to play one of your warriors or heroines in a movie or TV show, who would be your first choice?

MJUK04KIDS said...

Alyssa, if you could have any power that could compliment and be as one with one of your warriors what would it be?. and would you make conner work faster!!

Hi Connor,

I have been wondering what is going to happen to the couple in Shifter, Ethan and Marie. I would like to see how that ends and wondered if she plans to get them out of limbo. Oh and by the way... I would love to have your job. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Connor,
Congrats on the new position and thanks for helping Alyssa so she can write these amazing stories.
My question is one I have been wondering about for years, Will Alyssa ever give the answer to what clue the gorgeous red fox in the corner of her home page alludes to.

What made you want to write?
I love finding out the dinffernt reason:)

I was wondering maybe there could be a story about High Priest Nereus and his wife. Also another story that I would love, love to read about would be with Anubisa and how she came to be the way she is. Why she loves torturing the 3 brothers, Conlan, Vengence, and Justice. I want to know more about her side of the story and why she just hate them in general including their father (former King of Atlantis). Or a story about their father and mother before the fall of Atlantis, that could also include the birth of Conlan and Vengence and don't forget how Justice is also royalty. I also want to read a story about Rhys na Garanwy too, and more Fae stories that could also involve the Poseidon Warriors. Sorry I expect too much but those are just some ideas and/or stories that I would love to read about. So my question is; Alyssa would you please write a story close enough to what I had described above? Please? It'll be great if you do so even just considering it. You're the best! (o^_^o)

Hi Connor, you sure have a great job! I love the series, and have no real questions about it. I am just curous about Denal's story. okay, a question: Will there be new paranormal races/creatures introduced in the next books?

TAMacLeod said...

Welcome Connor,

Well this is a question about the covers. What is the process in how your covers are designed. Do you make suggestions as to what you envision and how are the models selected. A cover sometimes sets the tone of a book and I was wondering how much input you have. Inquiring minds like mine want to know. :-)

Laura said...

I love the Warriors of Poseidon. Surely there are more than a handful?? This was an entire culture. Will you be brining us more warriors???

Welcome, Connor! Thanks for helping Alyssa!

My question is about the prophecy that says one of every species must live in Atlantis before it can rise. Does that mean one of every type of shapeshifter, or just one shapeshifter?
I'm also dying to know more about Alyssa's non-Atlantis projects.
And while I don't know if she'd want to answer this, I was wondering if any of her heroes resemble Navy Guy, or if he was a particularly strong inspiration for any one of them. What do the people on the base think of her writing about Atlantis? Do they ever talk about things from Navy work that inspire new story ideas?

Alyssa said that Alaric's is the last in the series? I was wondering about Jack Shephard, the tiger shifter. What happens to him?

Hey Connor!
Thanks for helping out our wonderful Alyssa. I would love to read about how the jewels got to where they are in the books today. i guess the stories of how the jewels got to their current locations (before the warriors got them). Jeez im rambling. I think that would be cool to read about.

I love the questions that UNKNOWN posted. I wonder about Auubis and her history and how it intersected with the Athenians. Also the very early years of the warriors. How they got together, how were they chosen? Also how did the princesses in Daniel's book get chosen for hybernation? Where will the story go from here?

Alyssa Day said...

These are all so terrific! It will be hard to choose! Connor is thrilled you're all pitching in like this! (And he's busy learning my expense filing system, mwah ha ha).

Alyssa,I was just wondering how long it takes you to write a book?and how hard was it for you to get you first book published?Do you have any advice for someone just starting out?

slappylilly said...

I enjoyed all of your books so far. Where do you get your moviation for such lively characters?

Liz said...

Hello Connor!

I don't think I saw this question:
Many authors say that they have always want to write. Is that the same for you and, if not, what got you started?

Thank you!

Michaela said...

I posted earlier, but I have another question: Who is Alyssa's agent? I couldn't find that information on the site.

Jessie Patterson said...

Congrats, Connor! What an awesome job to have! I'd love to do something like that, but how does one get into this line of work?

Alyssa, here's one of my questions for you. How do you come up with the unique names for your characters? Do they just pop in your head or do you find them through research? I am a writer myself and sometimes find it difficult to find names for my characters.

First I am new to the series, I am on book three now and I love all the warriors. How many books are you planning for the series? Will Denal get his own story? Will you more of the rebels get their own books as well?

I look forward to the rest of the books in this series.

Do you ever find yourself "stuck", and undecided on which turn to take in a story?
Are there days when your "muse" doesn't want to work or play?
What was the first step you took (other than having a story written) in order to get published?
Conner- Hope you enjoy your new position!
Alyssa- I Love your books and hope you continue to allow us to escape into more worlds. Thank you so much.

Hi Conner, way to go on the new job. I'm jealous.

I love Casey's question. "Does Poseidon have a story?" That is a story I would love to see, it wouldn't matter if it was a prequel or a finale.

Since Alaric's story is the last in the Warrior's of Poseidon series, do Mel and Jack fall into a new series? What about the 3 surviving Maidens? What happens to the vampire Congress after Daniel resigns? Does Nicholas end up taking over? What happens with the shifter Alpha and Marie?

Good grief. I guess I have to wait and see Alric's story first, but you can see I have bunches of questions story-wise.

My question concerns the writing of the books themselves. I am wondering if you have a set number of books for this series. I also would like to know if we are gonna see more of Poseidon as Atlantis gets closer to rising?

How abt exploring a story abt reisen and melody?... They seem to be heating in vampire in atlantis.

At the end of Vampire in Atlantis you put Jack with Alaric and Quinn in a mountain in Japan. You also put the sentient being that was the portal with them. I'm guessing that Jack ends up with the sentient as his human self is stuck in the portal. She has to help him come back to himself??I am excited to see if I am even close! congrats on the job Connor! Love the Atlantis series!!

I'm just curious as to how much time passes in-between the novels. Is there some sort of time-line?

How many books will you write?

Just a thought and possible idea for Alyssa..... is there any chance that the e-books and short stories may be brought together and published as one 'main' book such as Wild Hearts in Atlantis, The Princess and the Peas, Shifters Lady and Alejandro's Sorceress? Just that personally I prefer an actual book to e-books and it would be really nice to be able to have them all in one book.
