The joy of someone who truly knows you

I'm a mad holiday decorator - Halloween and the 8-foot-long spider, and now Christmas and I have enough ornaments to put up 4 trees. And my lovely husband knows me well enough to give me this for an early gift:

The Serenity in Disguise ornament. I won't explain it - either you're a mad Joss Whedon fan like me or you're not. Me, I'm blissed out.

And my darling mother sent me this, from the classic TV end of the spectrum:

And now I don't need anything else for Christmas. Well, maybe some peanut butter dog chews. The economy sized jar . . .

How about you? Shopping almost done? I braved WalMart this morning for Moon Sand, which made me feel like P.T. Barnum was rolling around in his grave laughing. "They spend MONEY for dirt!! BRILLIANT!! Wish I'd thought of that!!"

And I picked up a few stocking stuffers, so I think I might actually be done shopping, yay. Need to inventory the items I've stuffed in various hiding places around the house to be sure . . . but we're still 6 days out!! This is WAY EARLY for me to be done shopping. I'm usually one of the idiots running around on Dec. 24 trying to find last-minute gifts.

Anyway, my aspiration for 2008 is peace and happiness and way less stress, so have a happy Wednesday!
hugs,
Alyssa

I believe I'm done shopping too! Whew!...but were not having Christmas this year until Jan 13. My daughter moved to Oregon in May and shes coming home on Jan 10 for 5 days (thats my best gift), so I'll wait!

I haven't decorated at all. Too much deadline howling around my head this year, but I popped by to say cool ornament. I love, love, loved Firefly, even if I haven't - and will never - forgive JW for killing off my favorite character in the Serenity movie. How *could* he?

OMG! I've been done "officially" shopping for a couple of days. And yes, there is Moon Sand in my house too. LOL My daughter loved Aqua Dots but those were recalled so we moved on to Moon Sand. But I bought mine at Target. LOL

Also, my husband, in his infinite wisdom (NOT), decided my daughter needed to get a Wii for Christmas. So then, we needed to buy more games for the thing. Our Christmas is officially out of control.

The house is 99% decorated. The gifts are only 70% wrapped, and like you Alyssa, I keep coming across stuff in every closet that I bought earlier in the year. GRRRRRR.....

Oh, Darla, congrats!! on both the shopping and your daughter coming home!!

Colleen, I can't believe you still have the carpet eating dog!!

Stacy, yes, we're on the Wii downhill slide, too. Every year, my husband says "we should have a gift-buying budget" and every year, I nod and then ignore him completely. Sigh. Wii games at $50 apiece!! and I thought DS games were bad at $29 . . .

ok, WHERE did your hubby get the Serenity ornament? I just watched it (again) yesterday while I was being a Very Good Girl and adding up all the receipts for his business for 2007.
