How is it 2008? I remember being a kid and thinking I'd be positively ANCIENT (i.e. older than 30, LOL) at the year 2000! And here we are nearly at the end of the decade.
I don't do resolutions, but I feel like setting some goals. I'm big on career goal-setting, but this year my goals run more toward the personal:
I'd like to achieve balance. I spent so much of 2007 running around like a madwoman; chasing after my own tail much of the time. Stress-induced migraines and stomach ache were my frequent companions.
This year, I want to do things a little differently. BE a little different. My goals are to:
1. do some travelling for pleasure, not just for work.
2. spend more time with the kids doing things they like and simply enjoying them for the fascinating individuals they are.
3. sitting still and living in the present instead of constantly berating myself with "what's next?"
How about you? Care to share any life goals?
hugs and happy New Year's!!
Alyssa

Alyssa - I'm totally with you on 2 and 3. I feel like I spend so much time getting ready for what tomorrow will bring that I never enjoy today.
I also have personal goals to keep healthy and continue to excercise. And to get rid of junk out of the house. My daughter is almost eight and I have a ton of her baby clothes because I kept hoping we would have another baby. But since that isn't going to happen it's time to pass on the baby stuff to someone who can use them.
I think that about covers it. LOL
Happy New Year!
Stacy
I put my goals up on my blog, but first had to decide what was a goal and what was a want this year. :) Wants sound so much better.
My goal at the present is to finish editing my manuscript, get the synopsis and query letter completed, and send this baby out in the world. Then start the process all over.
I also want to give myself more reading for pleasure time. It sounds great, but isn't always an easy thing to do when I'm writing everyday.
Stacy, I continue to think we're living the same life. LOL. I spent a good part of this past 2 weeks decluttering - I have a driveway full of stuff going to the Vietnam Vets association tomorrow. I gave away all the baby clothes awhile ago except for one plastic bin full of special outfits that had some memory attached that I couldn't quite give up . . .
Vicki! good luck with that goal!! And I know what you mean about reading. I spend most of my time reading research books, so it was a pleasure to read juts for personal enjoyment while I was taking a little vacation in December.
Alyssa - I have to agree with you. LOL With our daughters so close in age we seem to be on similar paths at times. And I know I still owe you pictures of me with Pirate Pete from Halloween. That is on my to do list to.....LOL
Stacy
So my goals this year are
1 to pass my driving test.
2spend more time with kids
3 get the kids and myself to ballroom dance lessons as we are all interested.
My wants are to start working a bit more, and to have no more health complications with my hands/arms as kind of interferes with all the other stuff. Tinuke
